EC&M On Air Podcast — The Benefits of Virtual Estimates

Feb. 5, 2021
EC&M Editor Ellen Parson and Mike Bickimer, owner of Bickimer Electric and TVE, discuss the ins and outs of providing virtual estimates to customers in Episode 1 of this podcast.

In the first episode of EC&M On Air, Editor-in-Chief Ellen Parson discusses virtual estimates with Mike Bickimer, owner of The Virtual Electrician (TVE) and Bickimer Electric in Overland Park, Kan. Bickimer holds his masters license in three states — Kansas, Missouri, and Florida — and has been in the trades since 1996. He grew up working for various subcontractors under his fathers’ construction company. He fell in love with the electric trade and focused on that since 2004, starting out as a residential electrician and then going on to master the commercial and industrial side of electricity as well. Bickimer became a master electrician in 2012, and there isn’t an electrical issue that he can’t solve virtually.

Additionally, Bickimer is the proud father of three. He and his wife, Melissa Bickimer, are also heavily involved in the community. They are board members of both the Promise of Learning Foundation and Joseph’s Way, two organizations dedicated to helping secular and religious charities achieve their goals. Charities they have supported through these boards include Kids TLC, the KCK Foundation for Excellence, Bishop Ward, Holy Spirit, KCKCC, Morning Glory Ministries, the Will to Succeed Foundation, and many more.

Bickimer was also interviewed for "Virtual Reality Check," an article from the December 2020 print issue by Freelancer Tim Kridel, for his work with virtual estimates amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
