KRONE Announces Expansion Plans

KRONE, Englewood, Colo., announced a $40 million expansion plan for its copper and fiber optic cable manufacturing facilities. The company projects the investment will enable these facilities to generate close to $300 million in annual revenue by 2003 — up from about $70 million in 1999. KRONE's facility in Sidney, Neb., will add capacity devoted primarily to advanced data cables.

Graybar signs deal with IMC Products

Graybar, St. Louis, signed a distribution agreement with IMC Networks, a Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based manufacturer of optical-networking products for local-, wide-, and metropolitan-area networks. Graybar will distribute the company's media-conversion and optical-networking products, and it will carry IMC Networks' standalone copper-to-fiber media converters and single-mode to multimode products.

Web Site Distributes Tools and Advice

Craftworktools.com is a new online distributor of tools and equipment for the outside plant construction and maintenance of fiber optic, copper, and coaxial communications cable. The site also provides a “Tech Tip” directly from one of its vendors as well as pricing specials.
