The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), Arlington, Va., and the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA), Indianapolis, are launching a new standards committee, R10 Residential Systems. The new committee will establish bulletins and standards for design and installation of residential systems. Its first project will be revising the ANSI/CEA-2030 Multi-room Audio Cabling Standard, which provides a detailed blueprint for adding multi-room distributed audio to homes as well as graphics and charts with suggested set-ups. The group will also work on CEA/CEDIA Home Theater Recommended Practice: Audio Design. The first R10 call will be held in early December.

Participation in CEA Standards activities is open to companies and organizations with direct and material interest. CEA membership is not required to participate. To join a committee, please complete the form found on the CEA Web site.
