Nortel Networks, Tempe, Ariz., recently implemented Cablesoft’s Crimp Enterprise Server 5.0 in 21 buildings, which house more than 14,000 users in Richardson, Texas. Crimp 5.0, an enterprise wide infrastructure management solution, offers Nortel Networks speedy identification and rectification of OSP cable cuts. Crimp provides a detailed inventory of which devices reside on the cables, subunits, and fibers between given buildings. CentralNet, Inc. (CNI), a structured cabling installation contractor for Nortel, installed the product.

ERICO Extends CADDY Scholarship
ERICO, Inc., Solon, Ohio, has extended its CADDY Scholarship program through December 2000 for all BICSI Training Courses. ERICO and BICSI initiated this cooperative effort in 1998 to help further education in the telecommunications industry. How does the program work? Prospective BICSI trainees can earn money for their education by saving proofs-of-purchase from the ERICO line of CADDY fasteners. Until December 31, 2000, ERICO will donate $1 toward the tuition of an authorized training class for each Caddy proof-of-purchase saved (up to $200).
