Russ found this messy scene in a parking garage. As per Sec. 344.10(B)(1) of the 2020 NEC, rigid metal conduit must have approved corrosion protection. But as you’ll see in this video, the rigid metal conduit used here is disintegrating. Based on the evidence, a different product type would have probably been a better choice. Materials used must be suitable for the environment in which they were installed [Sec. 300.6].

Russ started in the electrical trade as an apprentice in 1985. He worked his way up to become a Journeyman Electrician and then eventually became a Master Electrician and Licensed Construction Supervisor. Russ is also an IAEI certified Electrical Inspector.
