ASTM International Cancels May In-Person Standards Meetings
In light of COVID-19, ASTM International recently announced it is canceling all in-person standards development meetings (including independent meetings) for the month of May. Earlier this month, the organization had announced the cancelation of all April in-person meetings.
Both decisions were based on several factors, including but not limited to: continued review of information and recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and other governmental bodies; input from ASTM International members whose organizations are increasingly concerned with travel; and continued monitoring of the expanding trajectory of the coronavirus.
ASTM International staff will be contacting committee leaders to plan alternatives for conducting committee business and continuing to rely on those factors and other relevant criteria and input points to assess the status of its June standards development meetings.
