July 24, 2020
Check out the states that fell short when it comes to compensation for electrical engineers.

According to the latest numbers released from the Bureau of Labor Statistics in its "Occupational Employment and Wages, May 2019 Study," Arkansas maintained its spot as the lowest-paying state in the country for electrical engineers with $84,400 per year in 2019 as compared to $82,200 in 2018. Although Indiana and Wisconsin dropped off the list from last year, Ohio and South Dakota maintained their positions. Puerto Rico actually had the worst compensation stats, coming in at only $63,400 per year and $30.48 hourly wage; however, it is considered a territory not a state. Let's take a look at the rankings in descending order, keeping in mind that they do not take cost of living into consideration.
