In 2022, Arkansas moved up the rankings as the No. 1 lowest-paying state for electrical engineers, based on based on findings released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in its “Occupational Employment and Wages, May 2022 Study.” Montana remained on the list, dropping one spot to No. 2. However, three newcomer states joined the 2022 rankings — South Dakota, Kentucky, and South Carolina — replacing Mississippi, Wisconsin, and Kansas.
