The National Park Service has awarded a contract to Heery International to provide commissioning services for a project to upgrade the mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems at the Statue of Liberty National Monument. The Park Service’s primary goal is to improve safety for visitors and staff at the popular tourist attraction. The Heery scope includes HVAC, building automation lighting control, electrical, fire alarm, fire suppression, and access control systems. New systems will also add climate control for the statue itself. The park is open to visitors, even though the statue itself is closed.
“It’s not often you get to work on a national treasure,” says Heery Senior Commissioning Agent Terrell Travis. “We enjoy working with the National Park Service and are honored to be part of such an important project.”
