The LFI Innovation Awards ceremony always serves as a nice launch pad for all of the events that take place at the Lightfair show. The ceremony presents the finalists and winners of this annual competition. Lightfair officials note the award winners exemplify the industry’s most innovative products and designs introduced during the past year.
This year’s competition attracted 261 entries spanning 14 categories. Each submission was judged by an independent panel of lighting professionals, which then identified four top products and 14 category winners.
The four top awards were as follows:
Most Innovative Product of the Year
Acuity Brands’ Open luminaire: Open luminaires use constructive occlusion to produce soft, comfortable illumination from a lens-free linear form.
Technical Innovation Award
Dicon Lighting’s Cielux T80 LED track light: The Cielux T80 is the first 80W LED and CRI>90 track light to achieve 50 lm/W.
Design Excellence Award
Hess America’s Moon bollard: Contemporary slim profile LED bollard adds a unique visual element to pedestrian scale spaces.
Judges’ Citation Award
Osram’s TRAXON Debut: Dynamic LED lighting with an intelligent media system to create personalized virtual reality spaces in dressing rooms.
