U.S. Adds Nearly 5GW of Wind Power Capacity in 2014

But China dominates global wind power capacity growth

According to a study by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), the wind power market used to be dominated by European economies, but in the mid-2000s China emerged as the driving force behind global wind power capacity growth. With a market share of just under 30% in 2013, China lead the ranking of the largest wind power countries worldwide — ahead of the United States, Germany and Spain. However, Europe still accounts for about 90% of global cumulative offshore wind power capacity.
