On-Demand Course Focuses on Troubleshooting Three-Way Switches
The class presents several scenarios inside a residential dining room where technicians need to diagnose why the lights and the receptacles might not be working properly.
Interplay Learning’s on-demand course, “Diagnosing Circuits: Three-Way Lighting,” introduces multi-location light control to expand a technician’s skills and knowledge of electrical circuits and diagnosing faults. Taught by Mark Mrohs, who has more than 40 years of experience in the solar photovoltaic field, the class presents several scenarios inside a residential dining room where technicians need to diagnose why the lights and the receptacles might not be working properly.
Technicians will learn:
What is three-way switching;
How a pair of traveler wires makes three-way switching work;
How three-way switching wiring is typically done wrong;
How a three-way dimmer switch is wired differently from a standard three-way switch; and
How to safely examine duplex receptacles and discover wiring faults.
The content consists of 21 VR/3D simulations, seven video lessons and seven knowledge checks. At the course’s conclusion, technicians earn five hours of NATE continuing education units.
