    Electrical symbols are a graphical representation (also called a pictogram) used in electrical drawings and electrical schematic diagrams. Designed to identify a specific component, these symbols are defined with numerous national and international standards, such as IEEE standard and ANSI standard. Needless to say, electrical engineers and electricians should have a thorough knowledge of these pictograms.
