Connecticut Adopts Codes Including 2017 NEC

Connecticut Legislature approved the submitted Building and Fire Codes, including the 2017 NEC.

The Connecticut Legislature approved the submitted Building and Fire Codes, including the 2017 NEC. Adoption will be effective October 1, 2018. 

The new Building, Fire Safety and Fire Prevention Codes were approved by the Connecticut Legislative Regulation Review Committee at their meeting July 25. These codes will go into effect on October 1, 2018. 

The approved Codes are as follows: 

State Building Code:

2015 International Building Code (Includes the 2017 NEC)
2015 International Residential Code

State Fire Safety Code:

2015 International Fire Code (Part III)
2015 NFPA 101 Life Safety Code (Part IV)

State Fire Prevention Code:

2015 NFPA 1
