    Jan. 9, 2014

Fill in the blank with the appropriate answer.

The requirement for grouping ungrounded and grounded conductors of multiwire branch circuits, per 210.4(D), shall not apply if ________ .

    A. the circuit enters from a cable or raceway that is unique to the circuit so that the grouping is obvious.

    B. the conductors are identified with numbered wire markers corresponding to the appropriate circuit number.

    C. Both A and B are correct.

    D. Neither A or B are correct.

    Answer: C

The Exception in 210.4(D) has been revised in the 2014 Edition of the NEC to add “the conductors are identified with numbered wire markers corresponding to the appropriate circuit number.” The Exception already stated that “the circuit enters from a cable or raceway that is unique to the circuit so that makes the grouping obvious.”
