According to Sec. 728.60, when installing a fire-resistive system requiring “an equipment grounding conductor (EGC) the EGC shall use the same fire-rated cable described in the system, unless alternative EGCs are listed with the system. Any alternative EGC shall be marked with the system number. The system shall specify a permissible EGC. If not specified, the EGC shall be the same as the fire-rated cable described in the system.”
