It is important to identify the appropriate neutral conductor associated with the ungrounded conductor(s) for any circuit, especially for personnel who install and maintain electrical circuits and equipment. This revised section in the 2017 edition of the NEC [200.4(B)] provides information on how to accomplish this and make the work safer for personnel working with circuits and equipment.
