In this episode of “EC&M On Air,” EC&M Editor-in-Chief Ellen Parson discusses the contactless office trend with two executives from Powering Chicago, an organization working to make Chicago-area offices safe for employees to return. Mark Thomas is the executive vice president at the Electrical Contractors' Association of the City of the Chicago, and Elbert (Bert) Walters III is the executive director of Powering Chicago.

Powering Chicago is an electrical industry labor-management partnership (LMCC) that brings together the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 134 electricians and the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) of the City of Chicago. Walters and Thomas discuss the essential role union electricians and contractors are fulfilling to make Chicago offices safe for employees to return. This includes installing or upgrading air filtration systems and UV lighting, while ensuring the right sources exist to power these tech-heavy features.
