Patti Engineering to Open Kokomo, Indiana, Office

July 9, 2015
New Kokomo, IN office meets growing demand from Patti Engineering’s partners and manufacturing clients for Siemens and Mitsubishi industrial automation control system integration expertise and support.

Patti Engineering, Inc. has announced the opening of its fifth office in Kokomo, Ind. This follows the opening of Patti Engineering’s Chattanooga, Tenn., office earlier this year. As in Tennessee, Indiana’s growing demand for automation engineering expertise and robust manufacturing growth spurred the decision to open this new office. The Indiana office expands Patti Engineering’s customer service and consultation bandwidth for its current key clients, Chrysler and Honda, and affords the opportunity to grow its customer base in the Midwest.

Indiana’s economic growth has been impressive in recent years, with real GDP expected to rise 2.7% in 2015 (according to BMO Capital Markets). Automotive and manufacturing industries are leading economic and employment growth in Indiana. Between 2013 and 2014, Indiana’s manufacturing employment rate rose 4.5% (far above the national average of 1.6%), according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Patti Engineering is meeting the requests of multiple partners and customers by opening the new Kokomo office.

Earlier this year, Patti Engineering welcomed Nick Hobbs on board as its business development manager for the Midwest. Hobbs will lead the Kokomo office, and drive additional growth for the company focusing on business in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. As part of the expansion plans, Patti Engineering will continue to add engineers to work out of the Kokomo office.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to build and grow the Kokomo regional office,” said Hobbs. “Being closer to our clients in the Midwest will be a win-win; the expansion will increase our business opportunities, and our customers will benefit from readily accessible integration expertise.”

Hobbs is a seasoned sales professional with years of experience in the manufacturing industry, distribution sales, and relationships in technical sales and marketing for the automotive, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, plastics, and veneer industries. He graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a minor in Business Management. Prior to Patti Engineering, he worked for an automation distributor.
