VICTORIA, BC - May 31, 2002 - As government and business sectors increasingly evaluate ways to control energy costs throughout their facilities, Power Measurement offers an affordable solution: the Internet-ready ION 7300-series intelligent energy meters. The company's low-cost ION 7300-series products now offer MeterM@il(r) e-mail messaging and WebMeter(r) web-browser support - advanced communications features that use the Internet to support enterprise-wide energy reporting and analysis. Originally introduced on the company's flagship ION 7500(tm) and ION 7600(tm) products, these advanced features greatly increase the communications capabilities of the ION 7300(tm), ION 7330(tm), and ION 7350(tm) meters, making them the ideal choice for entry-level power monitoring applications, or as an integral part of a full-scale enterprise energy management system.

"By extending our Internet features to the ION 7300-series, we've made it easier and more affordable than ever for any institution or business to control the cost, quality and reliability of its power," said Brad Forth, Power Measurement President and CEO. "You can place an ION 7350 meter on a building's main service entrance to monitor incoming power, and then use the meter's MeterM@il feature to send alarms or system-status updates as e-mail messages, right to your workstation, cell phone or pager. And with WebMeter, the meter hosts a web page that you can view from any Internet browser, so you can quickly view your power system data at any time. Because these features use the Internet, there's very little overhead, making this a great proposition for any facility that's just getting into energy management," said Forth. "It's an affordable, all-in-one solution."

The MeterM@il and WebMeter features are available now for selected ION 7300-series meters equipped with the Ethernet Port option. For more information, visit the Power Measurement web site at www.pwrm.com.
