Facebook Chooses TrendPoint for its Data Centers

Facebook, Inc. has chosen to deploy TrendPoint’s EnerSure Enkapsis power quality meter (PQM) across multiple data center facilities.

This marks an expansion of business between the two companies that began working together two years ago to deploy branch circuit monitoring across busway and panelboard power distribution infrastructure manufactured by multiple vendors. EnerSure Enkapsis works seamlessly with legacy TrendPoint devices in Facebook’s data centers to enhance the DCIM initiative by adding total harmonic distortion and waveform capture analysis capabilities.

“Power efficiency is a key priority as we continue to scale, and with four data centers in the U.S. and Europe, we are always looking for ways to optimize our data center operations,” said Tom Furlong, vice president of Infrastructure, Facebook. “TrendPoint Systems will provide us with a granular understanding of power consumption across our distribution equipment – information that will help us improve our IT infrastructure."
