The Eco-Logical Smart Strip surge protector guards electronics from damaging power surges while lowering electric bills, according to the company. When devices are plugged into the control outlet and then go into “sleep” mode, the surge protector automatically cuts power to peripherals, such as computer monitors and speakers. Available in either seven or 10 outlet models, the product includes two or three “always-on” outlets for use with equipment that should not be turned off, such as fax machines, cordless phones, or cable and satellite receivers.
