IMPULSE•G+ Series 4 adjustable frequency drives can be used as an open-loop vector or V/F crane control for traverse motions or mechanical load brake hoists. The drives also can be used as a closed-loop flux vector crane control designed for non-mechanical load brake hoists and high performance traverse motions. Features include Load Check II, which continuously detects hoist overload conditions throughout the frequency range, halting upward motion and only allowing the load to be lowered. The Adaptive Ultra-Lift feature allows for hoist operation above base speed with a light load or empty hook. It continuously monitors motor torque and adjusts motor speed to operate at peak performance, improving plant safety and maximizing throughput. Safe Torque Off provides a redundant hardware safety circuit that guarantees motor and brake power are removed when an E-STOP switch or safety controller opens the drive input.
