Time domain reflectometer

Megger’s CFL510G TDR locates faults less than 3 ft from the point of connection.
Sept. 5, 2013
The CFL510G time domain reflectometer (TDR) features a 2 ns pulse width that
virtually eliminates dead zones. Designed to locate faults less than 3 ft from the point of connection, the IP54-rated TDR can be used on all metallic pairs, including twisted-pair copper and coax cable. Features include an auto set-up feature that determines the impedance of the cable under test, sets the instrument accordingly, and selects the optimum gain and pulse width chosen by the operator; dual cursors for pinpointing faults; a trace hold feature used for comparison between cables, and a large, high-resolution backlit display. The device also features four output impedances, including 25 Ω, 50 Ω, 75 Ω, and 100 Ω, and a velocity factor between 0.20 and 0.99.
