Designed for standby and mission-critical applications, the Cat 3516C-HD diesel gen-set is rated at 2,750kVA (2,200 ekW), while the Cat C32 diesel gen-set is now available in a 1,250kVA (1,000 ekW) power rating. The Cat 3516C-HD features a four-stroke turbocharged-aftercooled engine platform to offer a power density of 35kVA/liter. In addition, this model features a 25% smaller footprint than comparable engines. The Cat C32 employs a four-stroke engine built on the ACERT platform to offer a power density of 39kVA/liter in a 8.9 sq-m (96 sq-ft) footprint. Both models feature the EMCP 4 control panel, which provides flexible options with a user-friendly interface, combining management and diagnostic tools in one package, while the optional EMCP 4.4 controller provides multi-gen-set paralleling capability. Both are engineered to ISO 8528-5 transient response requirements, accepting 100% rated load in one step.
