UL Warns of Potentially Hazardous Tamper-Resistant Receptacle

The product may pose an electric shock hazard.

UL recently issued a warning (Release 21PN-18) that the Abbotech Tamper-Resistant Standard Wall Outlet may pose an electric shock hazard. This receptacle does not comply with UL’s Safety Standards and is not authorized to bear the UL Mark for the United States or Canada. Known to be sold at online retailers and possibly by others, the product contains marking that improperly identifies the L1, L2 and N1, N2, terminals. UL recommends that this receptacle not be installed. See the images and description below for more details:
