Appeals court upholds a Wright County, Minn., jury’s verdict that a dairy farmer was entitled to damages 

A Waverly, Minn., dairy farmer can be awarded damages because stray electrical currents from the local power cooperative killed some of his cows and caused others to produce less milk. In a split ruling, the appeals court upheld a Wright County jury’s verdict that Harlan Poppler, 36, was entitled to damages from Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association for harm caused to his herd from the electricity.
