Subcontractor Electrocuted at Airbus

The man was attempting to set up temporary power to the construction site and was electrocuted.

A subcontractor was electrocuted at an Airbus construction site last week in Mobile, Alabama. According to Mobile Police Department Public Information Officer Terence Perkins and as reported by Al.com, the man was attempting to set up temporary power to the construction site and was electrocuted.

The victim worked for Birmingham-based general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie, which was awarded a contract to outfit and complete the final assembly line hangar as well as construct the service building and logistics center for the $600 million A320 final assembly line under construction at Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, Al.com reported.

OSHA has opened up an investigation of the incident, and Airbus released the following statement: "Airbus is saddened to hear about the accident which occurred at the construction site for our assembly line in Mobile yesterday which resulted in the death of a Brasfield & Gorrie contractor. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time."
