Teen Lifeguard Drowns in Electrified Pool Water

Rachel Rosoff, 17, was found dead in the pool and pulled from the water after a call reporting electrocution and/or possible drowning.

A teen girl found dead in a North Raleigh pool last week drowned after entering the electrified water. Authorities said Rachel Rosoff, 17, was found dead in the pool and pulled from the water after a call reporting electrocution and/or possible drowning.

According to a report from CBS North Carolina, the 911 caller said he couldn't get to her because the pool water seemed to electrified. The caller said he attempted to jump in the pool but felt “a shock run through" him.

Rosoff was a lifeguard at the pool near Heritage Point, a North Raleigh, N.C., subdivision.

One day after the incident, investigators were reportedly focused on a "power box" attached to a building at the pool, trying to determine how an electrical charge made it to the water. Among those at the pool included CCBI, county inspectors, the Department of Labor, and electricians.
