2022 Top 50 Electrical Contractors’ Project Spotlight

This year's Top 50 electrical contractors share their most notable projects from 2021.

Despite the challenges of rising inflation, supply chain delays, and the ongoing labor shortage, EC&M's 2022 Top 50 Electrical Contractors managed to boost revenue as a collective group this year to more than $40 billion, an unprecedented 20% gain over the $34.1 billion amassed last year. This marks the biggest year-over-year jump in at least 15 years of this annual survey.

In addition to the annual survey results, presented in the charts and graphs, here's a sampling of some of the notable electrical projects Top 50 companies worked on in 2021.

For the sixth straight year, data center/mission critical construction and health care held their places as the top two markets bringing in the greatest dollar volume of projects in 2021, followed again this year by manufacturing in the third spot. Take a look at some of the innovative project photos sent in by Top 50 companies this year, representing the diverse scope of work that helped many of them reach record revenue levels.
