• ‘Rosie’s Girls’ Introduces Young Women to Electrical Trade

    Apprentice Training for the Electrical Industry was awarded a grant for the program.

    Pennsylvania Reps. Jennifer O’Mara and Melissa Shusterman announced mid-July that Apprentice Training for the Electrical Industry was awarded a grant for a program introducing young women to the electrical trade, according to an article on MyChesCo.com. The grant was offered through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry’s Apprenticeship and Training Office.

    The program, “Rosie’s Girls,” is designed to teach young women about safety, tools, theoretical basics of electrical and telecommunications installation, and jobsite conditions, as well as an introduction to other career paths in the building and construction trades.
