Hint: A coverless outlet box.
Just above the dome-type security camera is a metal box recessed in the wall. There is a surface-mounted, gray UF cable run into this box and the box has no cover on it. The missing box cover is a violation of Sec. 314.25 which requires a cover, faceplate, lampholder, or luminaire canopy to be installed for a complete installation. The method in which the UF cable enters the metal box does not comply with Sec. 314.17. The UF cable is secured to the cable for the security camera using cable ties. Using the Class 2 security camera cable for support of the UF cable does not comply with Sec. 722.11(A) which requires the installation to comply with Sec. 300.11, including Sec. 300.11(D) which prohibits using cables as a means of support for other cables. For the 2026 edition, we would look to Sec. 720.30(D) which also prohibits cables from supporting other cables.
