2026’s 30 Under 30 EC&M Electrical All Stars: Noah Brown
Noah Brown
Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Company: Stanley Consultants
Location: Muscatine, Iowa
Age: 25
Years on the Job: 6
Interests: Helping on his family’s farm, restoring antique tractors and vehicles, baking bread, gardening, and playing the piano
Noah Brown started building simple circuits in third grade, which quickly turned into a long-term fascination with how electrical systems work. He and his grandfather built a Tesla coil for his 4-H project and restored antique radios. He also learned about professional engineering from his teacher’s husband, which laid the foundation for his future career.
“Those experiences helped solidify electrical engineering as the right fit for my interests and skills, even before I fully understood the consulting side of the industry,” he said.
Born and raised in the small town of Wilton, Iowa, his family has deep roots in the community, with several generations of his family remaining connected to the area. After graduating from Wilton High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Iowa, where he completed two internships at Stanley Consultants. Following graduation, he continued working for the company full-time and has since earned his PE license and his Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification, which allows him to work across electrical power systems and telecommunications design.
“That dual capability has made it possible to take on broader responsibilities and support a wider range of project needs,” he said.
As an electrical engineer, each workday varies depending on project phases and needs. While some days are focused on design work, writing specifications, or performing electrical studies, others involve meetings with clients, coordinating with other disciplines, or traveling for site visits. His favorite part of his job, however, is the people he works with.
“The Stanley culture encourages collaboration, and there’s always someone willing to answer questions or share their experience,” he said. “That makes it easier to take on challenging work and continue learning.”
He’s now serving as the lead electrical designer for a large federal rocket research facility in the United States as well as residential housing renovation projects in Japan.
“These projects present unique challenges due to international code requirements, client expectations, and scale, but they also offer valuable experience early in my career,” he said.
Down the road, he hopes to advance technically and lead increasingly complex electrical and telecommunications projects.
“Overall, my goal is to be a reliable technical resource who can support clients, mentor others, and contribute meaningfully to the firm’s long-term success,” he said.
