2026’s 30 Under 30 EC&M Electrical All Stars: Jarod Didomenico
Jarod Didomenico
Job Title: Crew Lead III
Company: Claypool Electric
Location: Circleville, Ohio
Age: 28
Years on the Job: 9
Interests: Traveling around the world, renovating houses with his girlfriend, going to concerts, spending time with family, running, hiking, biking, cooking, and planning for his next excursion
Growing up, Jarod Didomenico never knew much about the trades, but he loved watching heavy equipment operate and learning to use tools and work on home projects with his dad.
“Each project was sort of like solving a puzzle, and it instilled a respect and wonder for the trades,” he said.
After his good friend started his apprenticeship, he was inspired to launch a career in the electrical industry as well.
“Prior to starting my apprenticeship, I was proficient with tools but knew practically nothing of the industry,” said Didomenico, who was born and raised in Lancaster, Ohio. “The road from there has been full of opportunities to learn and explore the trade.”
During his well-rounded apprenticeship, he was able to see and learn on many types of projects and construction, ranging from remodeling to new construction, from heavy industrial to light commercial, with crews of all sizes. Along the way, he developed new skills and learned how to use computers and technology like a total station for layout or an infrared camera for thermography.
“Through the years, I have been given great opportunities to build upon skills and climb the ladder,” he said. “Early exposure to different aspects of the trade prepared me well for my current position as crew lead for larger projects.”
As a Crew Lead III, he is tasked with leading larger field projects in terms of manpower and scope. For example, he studies the drawings and specifications, plans conduit runs, identifies the necessary details, and orders the right material. Once the work starts, he manages the subcontractors and ensures his crew follows the plan.
For Claypool Electric, he just led a two-year renovation and addition to the Engineering Research and Educational Laboratories at The Ohio State University.
“Working for such a high-profile customer that is also local in our community is rewarding, and I am proud to have led a project that will make an impact for years to come,” he said.
During this project, as well as other jobs, his team is using 3D modeling, coordination-driven apps, and other specialized tools and technologies.
“Technology is absolutely critical for today’s electrical firms, especially as we become increasingly paperless,” he said. “At Claypool Electric, we do a good job keeping up with the times and try to get technology across all levels of our team.”
In the future, he would like to be integrated into the core of the company as someone who can help others navigate all aspects of the trade with knowledge, respect, and commitment.
“I work towards this each day by continuing to learn and master the trade while mentoring others where I can,” he said.
