2026’s 30 Under 30 EC&M Electrical All Stars: Tyler Whitten

Meet this year's group of up-and-coming innovative electrical professionals.

Tyler Whitten

Job Title: Superintendent

Company: Eldeco

Location: Piedmont, S.C.

Age: 27

Years on the Job: 8

Interests: Boating, fishing, riding motorcycles and go karts, and spending time with his family

Tyler Whitten started in the trade as soon as he graduated from high school in Townville, S.C., a small town with one red light. He also took electrical and computer training classes to prepare for a career in the field.

“I didn’t have anyone in the field and just grew to love the work,” he said. “I took the time to listen to the leading generation before me and learned hands-on the entire process from very good leaders and mentors.”

He said his consistency and discipline set him apart from others. He is always at work and always wants to learn something new.

“I strive to be ahead of the coming problems,” he said. “There is always a solution, and a good attitude will make or break you.”

As an industrial electrical superintendent, he normally starts his day at 5:30 a.m. in the office. He prepares his crews with work plans, materials, and safety equipment. At the end of the day, after the crews leave, he ensures everything is complete and ready to start the next day. He said he enjoys the computer modeling and design aspects of his job.

“I have newly transitioned into this position, but I have grown so much since I started,” he said. “I believe technology is evolving every day, and I’m very involved in the evolution of AI and computer software. I hope to develop and help others in the company use this software to the company’s advantage.”

He previously worked at a new BMW electric vehicle manufacturing facility and is currently working on a new airplane manufacturing and assembly building for Boeing.

“I hope to play a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly on the project,” he said.

In the future, he plans to serve as a project manager and help others develop, as project management has done for him.

“I strive to be the best I can be, and I hope to inspire others,” he said.
