The National Electrical Manufacturers Association has published NEMA PRP 2-2014 Guidelines for Solvent-Cementing Joints for PVC Rigid Nonmetallic Conduit, Duct, and Fittings. This document presents industry guidelines for solvent-cementing joints for PVC rigid, nonmetallic conduit, duct, and fittings.
NEMA PRP 2, which was developed by the Polymer Raceway Products Technical Committee, provides industry recommendations on the proper cutting and cleaning of conduit and the application of solvent cement, taking into account the environmental conditions when solvent cement is applied. It is useful in the construction, utilities, and electrical contracting industries.
