See which states offered the lowest average wages for electrical engineers last year.

Again in 2023, Arkansas has maintained the No. 1 spot when it comes to the lowest compensation for electrical engineers, based on data from “Occupational Employment and Wages, May 2023 Study,” released from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). In fact, four of the five states on this year's rankings were repeats from previous years. The only newcomer to this list is Kentucky, which took the No. 2 spot in 2023. 

View all of the rankings for the five lowest-paying states for electrical engineers, listed in descending order. Keep in mind that these rankings do not take into cost of living into account.
