Your Guide to AI and the Electrical Industry — Part 2

Artificial intelligence stops for no one. Stay up to date on how AI is impacting the electrical industry.

As promised, we're back with part two of our "Implementing AI in Electrical Applications" e-book series. "Implementing AI in Electrical Applications — Part 1" was released in March of this year, and you can go back and read it in our e-book library. For this e-book, we've collected a selection of articles that further explores different ways artificial intelligence (AI) is impacting the electrical industry. We kick the e-book off with "Understanding Today's Data Center Demands" by Johnathan Meade of Meade Engineering. This article looks at how new technology, specifically AI, will increase demands on data centers and how electrical engineers are working to ensure data centers can meet these demands.

Building off that theme, the next articles look at the relationship between data centers, AI, and the electrical grid. There's "Building Data Centers for Tomorrow's AI Era" by Bob Crain of Cablofil, and "Reimagining Data Center Power Systems in the AI Era" by Forrest Secosky of Eaton. All three of these pieces offer different perspectives on a vital corner of the electrical industry, especially worth reading as AI becomes more prominent. To round out this e-book, we have "Powering The Future: The Role of Distributed Energy in the Era of Data Centers and EVs" by Bin Lu of Schneider Electric, which looks "at how microgrids and other energy-efficient resources are ensuring the U.S. electrical grid is equipped to meet the continuing influx in demand." Finally, "AI Is Coming for Your Job... Posting" by Aaron Szymanski of Augmenta offers evidence that AI is not here to replace electrical contractors and engineers, but to work with and for them.

It's an exciting time to be in the electrical industry, and this e-book will help you stay current on the latest technological developments. For now, this will close out our series on AI. However, EC&M will continue to cover the latest developments and insights in our magazine and on the website to keep you informed of all the ways AI is impacting the electrical industry.
