Eaton and ChargePoint Announce New Ultrafast DC V2X Charging System

New system combines ultrafast charging with V2X capabilities for passenger and heavy-duty EVs.
Sept. 2, 2025

Eaton and ChargePoint have announced a new ultrafast DC charging architecture with vehicle-to-everything (V2X) capability. The system is designed for both passenger and heavy-duty electric vehicles, supporting up to 600 kW for light-duty charging and megawatt-scale levels for commercial fleets.

The companies said the modular design allows integration with distributed energy resources, including solar and storage, and enables bidirectional power flows for grid support. They also plan to incorporate solid-state transformer technology in future iterations.

The charging system will be on display at the RE+ event in Las Vegas on September 9. Orders are expected to open in North America and Europe in early 2026, with deliveries later in the year.
