LRC Announces Next Photometry Institute
The Lighting Research Center (LRC) at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute recently announced that its next Photometry Institute event will be held May 19-20 at the LRC in Troy, N.Y. The program is designed to teach engineers, technicians, testing facility personnel, product developers, and more about the latest developments in photometric testing and evaluation, including new testing requirements for solid-state light (SSL) sources and systems.
The two-day immersive course runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day and is taught by a number of LRC faculty and staff. It will cover photometry terminology and definitions; photometric equipment set up and calibration; measurement of light; colorimetry; NVLAP and laboratory practices; SSL testing and measurement (including LM 79, LM 80, and LM 82); and photometry data review, interpretation, and reporting. The course is designed for attendees to come away with the knowledge and skills needed to establish and conduct photometric testing and evaluation of a wide range of systems.
In addition, participants will earn 20 continuing education units (CEUs) and receive a continuing education certificate in photometry.
