Top Electrical Apprentices Compete for the Title of IEC Apprentice of the Year

IEC reveals the 29 apprentices who have qualified for this year's competition.

 The Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) has announced the 2024 Apprentice of the Year (AOY) competition, where the nation’s best electrical apprentices will showcase their skills in a high-stakes contest for the coveted title. The AOY competition will take place during SPARK: The Electrician’s Expo, from October 14-16 in Tampa, Fla.

The Apprentice of the Year (AOY) competition is a cornerstone event for IEC and the electrical industry, providing a platform for rising stars to demonstrate their mastery in both theoretical knowledge and practical applications. With a comprehensive evaluation across multiple categories, these competitors will prove their proficiency in everything from blueprint reading to hands-on installations. 

Twenty-nine elite apprentices from across the U.S. have earned their place in this prestigious competition, representing their local IEC chapters and companies. This year’s competitors are:
