Company hopes guidelines will help mitigate business risks and costs of injury, downtime, and legal claims

Grainger, a distributor of facilities maintenance supplies, has created a 12-page Hurricane Preparedness Guide and launched a dedicated Web site to help businesses and institutions prepare in advance of a hurricane. The 2008 Hurricane Preparedness Guide has checklists, product solutions, and guidelines for taking action ahead of time to minimize damage.

"Through the Hurricane Preparedness guide, Grainger helps customers prepare for a disaster before it strikes," says Don Scheibenreif, VP strategic marketing at Grainger. "The guide highlights vital steps to help businesses safeguard their assets and maintain efficient operations during an emergency."
