IDEAL Electrical Invites Electricians to Qualifying Round Competitions

May 9, 2022
150 Qualifying Round winners in total will advance to the National Championship finals to compete for more than $600,000 in cash and prizes.

IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. is calling all professional and student-apprentice electricians to come out and compete at qualifying events happening nationwide for the 2022 IDEAL National Championship. Upcoming qualifying events will be held in every U.S. state and Canadian region from May through October.

At each qualifying event, electricians will apply their skills and workmanship by installing a receptacle, splicing, and testing for continuity using IDEAL tools and products provided on-site. Competitors will be measured on quality of work and time to complete the challenge with the top-scoring professional and student-apprentice from each state advancing to the IDEAL National Championship Finals, taking place November 4-6 at the Tampa Convention Center, to compete for the ultimate title.

New this year, IDEAL is implementing the “Champions Recharged” sweepstakes. All winners of local events that did not win their state will be entered into the drawing for an auto-bid to the finals. Also, competitors with the top scores at designated automatic qualifier events will automatically advance to the finals in Tampa. More details on automatic qualifier events will be announced throughout the year.

"We are thrilled to host the Championship finals in Tampa this year; there are so many exciting things the city has to offer to make this a great event for our competitors and their families," said Carmen Cardillo, general manager, IDEAL Electrical US & Mexico. "We encourage all electricians to register for a qualifying event in their area and give it a try. It is free to participate, it's fun, and you might end up having the experience of a lifetime.”

The IDEAL National Championship, established in 2016, is designed to celebrate and honor the Electrical trade. The competition highlights the professional trades as a rewarding, mentally-stimulating, and in-demand career path that provides necessary skills to keep local communities thriving.

A total of 150 qualifying round winners from the United States and Canada will advance to the National Championship finals across the two categories: professionals and student-apprentices. More than $600,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded.
