For the second year in a row, electricians looking to earn the highest compensation may want to consider a move to Illinois. Based on the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics in its updated Occupational Employment and Wages Study from May 2021, the rankings in 2021 are somewhat similar to 2020. The most notable change is that both Washington, D.C., and Hawaii dropped off this list, while New Jersey and Alaska moved their way up.

This gallery ranks the states that boast the highest pay for electricians in descending order; keep in mind that these rankings do not take cost of living into consideration.
