As more and more electricians are retiring from the trade, EC&M is celebrating the young up-and-coming electrical professionals 30 years old and under who have made significant contributions to the industry.

EC&M’s 30 Under 30 will be published in the June issue and a photo gallery featuring the winners will be posted online in the near future. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek at one of the winners, Cody Vincent, a 27-year-old foreman with Encore Electric in Lakewood, Colo. Vincent, who has a father and a brother who also work as electricians, shared what his boss’s thoughts on what makes him stand apart in the trade:

1. Dedication to the job.
2. Willing to show up early and stay late when necessary.
3. Mentors everyone he works with and teaches them everything he knows.
4. Takes responsibility for everything he does.
5. Shows dependability.
6. Willing to work all hours and all shifts.
7. Does what he says he is going to do.
8. Takes everything thrown at him without compliant.
9. Helps everyone around him to succeed.
10. Never expects anything in return for his good deeds.
11. Loves his job and enjoys working.
12. Goes way above and beyond what is expected of him.

By also exhibiting these qualities and a dedication to the trade, other electrical professionals can also succeed in the industry and pave their way to a bright future in electrical contracting.
