Rosendin Encourages Future Construction Leaders by Unveiling New Store at BizTown

April 12, 2023

Employee-owned electrical contracting firm Rosendin recently announced its newest project built just for kids. Rosendin’s Tempe team redesigned its booth at Junior Achievement of Arizona into an interactive storefront demonstrating how an electrical company conducts business within the community.

JA BizTown is a hands-on program for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders in Arizona that teaches students how to manage finances, run a business, and explore career paths, all while stimulating the economy. The program assigns each student a role that takes them on a personalized path to learn about owning a business. The 501(c)3 nonprofit plans to have 250 schools from across Arizona visit throughout the 2022-2023 academic year.

“To celebrate our 15th year of working with Rosendin, Junior Achievement of Arizona is proud to provide a new modern storefront and updated curriculum that showcases how Rosendin uses technology to find solutions to complex electrical problems,” said Katherine Cecala, Junior Achievement of Arizona president. “Our objective is to introduce students to the joy of building a community and display the vast opportunities available in the growing construction industry.”

Rosendin collaborated with SDB Contracting Services, State Tile & Flooring, and Powering Arizona, a joint effort of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), to complete the construction of the storefront.

Rosendin has been supporting Junior Achievement and BizTown since 2008 through various annual events, volunteer efforts, and its storefront. Its annual Bowl-A-Thon, most recently held in the fall of 2022, raised $10,000 for the nonprofit.
