What’s Wrong Here? Hint: A Collection of Catastrophes

Think you know how this installation violates the NEC?

Hint: a collection of catastrophes.

I spotted this collection of various wiring methods on the exterior of a building. It offers a unique combination of violations. Using that blue flexible cord as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure is a violation of Sec. 400.12(1). Using a rigid PVC conduit as a supporting means for the flexible cord is prohibited by Sec. 352.12(B). Section 300.11(C) also prohibits this rigid PVC conduit raceway from being used as a means of support for this flexible cord since the raceway is not identified for this purpose. Installing electrical nonmetallic conduit (ENT) where exposed to direct sunlight is prohibited by Sec. 352.12(7) unless the ENT is identified as being sunlight resistant. Pinching the conductors of the flexible cord underneath the box cover is not the way to comply with Sec. 400.14. Lastly, I’m not sure the box cover provides compliance with Sec. 314.15 for this wet location.
