With HED, Royal Oak, Mich., as a design partner, NTT fashioned a cutting-edge, 205,000-square-foot data center in 2024 in Itasca, Ill. HED’s electrical design contribution for the CH2 Data Center featured the use of prefabricated modular electrical enclosures; resilient power strategies to protect uptime and flexible distribution tailored to client needs; and use of a digital model that brought in all parties in real time, which minimized delays and rework without sacrificing technical rigor.
This year’s Top 40 electrical design firms see a double-digit revenue boost amidst more demand concentration in the data center space.
