Massachusetts to adopt 2017 NEC

According to a recent edition of NEMA's Code Alerts, the Massachusetts Board of Fire Prevention Regulators voted unanimously on Dec. 1, 2016, to accept the recommendation of the MA Electrical Code Advisory Committee to promulgate the 2017 National Electrical Code with specific administrative modifications and technical amendments. The Board Counsel will submit to the Secretary of the State for publication of the new rules in the State's Register on Dec. 30, 2016, to be effective Jan. 1, 2017. The 2017 NEC will serve as the basis for the Massachusetts Electrical Code.
