Ushio America Recalls LED T8 Lamps

Recall due to potential injury hazard
June 12, 2020

Ushio America Inc., Cypress, Calif., in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), recently recalled its Indiglow LED T8 backlit lamps with a 4-ft tube, which are a direct drop-in replacement for 30W and 32W T8 fluorescent tubes. Approximately 3,000 units were sold in the United States. According to the CPSC report, the recalled lamps can overheat, causing the glass tube to fall and strike those standing nearby, posing an injury hazard.

Approximately 3,000 units were sold at various electrical equipment supply stores, distributors nationwide, and on the company's online store from March 2017 through March 2018 for about $25. No injuries were reported at press time.

Consumers should immediately stop using the lamps and contact the company for a full refund or free replacement lamp. Additionally, Ushio America is contacting all known purchasers directly.
